Thank you so much for SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) that gave me a great opportunity to learn many things in Chiang Rai, Thailand. I learned the way to increase my teaching skill and my english communication, because I never use english language in my daily life before.  This program is really good, not just for me but for all participants. I’m happy because I’m a part of this program.

I’m thankful too for Mr. Teerawat and Miss Nok for taking care me and friends during in Chiang Rai.

I was so nervous, but they said just relax because it was just usual meeting. This SEA Teacher Project program really good, gave me and my friends the great opportunity to get our experience in other country. Thailand was like my second home, because it was not different with Indonesia.

In the night, the dorm owner taught us to cook Thailand’s food, like som tam and Pad Thai. I was grateful because I can meet kind people here.

Today is Saturday. We did the excursion trip in Chiang Rai. Not only us and CRRU’s hosts, but also some english education and english linguistic students from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University (CRRU). They will be our buddies and help us here. She is my buddy, her name is Jean from English Linguistic major. I and her also sharing our information about this program, Indonesian and Thailand. Because their major are english, it was so easy to communicate with them.

The first place in this excursion trip was Elephants’ Camp, about one hour from my dorm. It was my first time to see and feed the elephants directly.

The next place was Mae Sai (about 1 hour 30 minutes from Elephants’ Camp). It was really far journey, but fun. When we arrived, we prayed and eat here to charge our energy, hehe^^ I can see a part of Myanmar here. We have to up the steps of stairs to top of Mae Sai. And our trip end here. How the wonderful trip is!

Day 20~

Today is Friday. I walked around this school to find the laboratory. Actually, Damrongratsongkroh School has one laboratory in the second floor of building 1 that save every chemical substances and equipments. Students does not do their experiments here, but in their classroom. Teacher will bring chemical substances and equipments that they need to do practicum in the classroom.

Day 19~

Today is Thursday, and I finished my teaching schedules here. Next my activities are checked my students’ worksheet and prepared for evaluation. There is not different thing for this day, and I attended flag ceremony like usual every morning in this school. But, I was happy today because teachers from Science Department invited us to lunch. I could not remember what the name of food is, because it wrote in Thailand language.

Day 18~

Today is Wednesday. Mentor trusted me to teaching full for 4 periods in class 5.2 and 5.3 (2 periods for each class), while my mentor did the observation in other school. These classes is not different with the other. I started the class with intoduced myself first. Same with class 5.1, I just reviewed this topic “Balancing Redox equations”. After I explain, I gave them worksheet individually, but I also helped them in the part that they do not understand, because I know this topic is not easy.

After they finished the worksheet, I asked them to play a game and learning too. I gave them a colour paper and asked them to make a simple question about Balancing Redox Equations topic (not too easy and not too difficult). Then, I akes them to fold their paper to the form that they want to, and they’re so creative. Some students fold it to plane, flower, heart, bird, and so on.

After finished, I collected their paper and then gave them a chance to take the question randomly. They are not allowed to take their own question. When they got the paper, they have to answer the question.

But, from two classed today, I found a little problem. There are students who can not understand with english language. It make me difficult to do the communication with them. Finally, I can solved this problem, I choose one students in each group who can speak and understand english well, so they can explain and translate it to their friends who can not understand what I said.

Thank you 5.2 and 5.3^^

Day 17~

Today is Tuesday which my first to teach in this school, class 5.2. Students of this class can understand my explain in english language. My mentor has teached about this topic, so I just review their memories about this topic. I like their enthusiasm when they’re learning, but some of students was still shy to meet the new comer like me~

But, they can did adaptation well. I learned new thing here. I found the different thing this topic between Indonesia and Thailand. In Indonesia, we studied this topic at Grade 12, but here at Grade 11. My mentor also supervised me to evaluate my teaching skill and manage the class.

Thank you 5.1^^
